Tool Lockout & Security Issues
Random Tool Lockout or Stolen Tool Mode

Tool spontaneously locks itself in "stolen tool mode" without user action, preventing normal operation.

1) Open ONE-KEY™ app and navigate to Inventory.

2) Tap "Nearby Devices" icon in top left corner.

3) When tool appears, connect to it directly.

4) Select "Remove Tool Lock" option.

5) If connection fails, perform manual reset on tool.

6) Remove battery for 30 seconds, then reinstall.

7) Contact MILWAUKEE® support for persistent lockout issues.

8) Consider disabling auto-lock feature if available.

Cannot Unlock Tool Remotely

Tool remains locked even after sending unlock command through the app.

1) Ensure you are within Bluetooth® range (10-30 feet).

2) Verify you are logged into correct account.

3) Check tool has sufficient battery charge.

4) Force close and restart app before retry.

5) Try connecting from different device with same account.

6) Use "Manual Override" if tool supports it.

7) Contact Milwaukee support with proof of purchase.

Purchased Used Tool - Locked To Previous Owner

Purchased tool has a red blinking LED and is inoperable.

1) Contact MILWAUKEE® support with proof of purchase.

2) Coordinate transfer from previous owner.

3) It may require over 30-days to process.

Tool Already In Someone Else's Inventory

Error in the ONE-KEY™ app when adding a tool.

1) Contact MILWAUKEE® support to initiate ownership transfer.

2) The seller should remove the tool from their inventory first.

Use Tool Lockout to Secure Stolen/Missing Tools

The tool should be unusable when marked missing/stolen in the ONE-KEY™ app.

1) Add the tool to your ONE-KEY™ inventory.

2) Enable geofence

3) Use Tool Lockout

(Android/iOS)

Unlock a Recovered Locked-Out Tool

The tool remains locked after recovery.

1) Navigate to your ONE-KEY™ inventory.

2) Got to Connect to Tool and toggle Tool Lock OFF.

3) Make sure status is set to Available.

Procedures for Received Stolen Tools

The tool purchased is locked/inoperable.

1) Contact MILWAUKEE® support

2) Verify ownership

There are risks when purchasing resale products.

Bluetooth® Lock: Tool Auto-Unavailable When Marked Stolen

Tool lock fails when the tool is marked as recovered/problem.

1) Use auto-generated lock/unlock routine in the ONE-KEY™ app until cleared.

Procedure to Automatically Unlock Recovered Tool

Tool recovered but relocked.

1) Set status to Available in ONE-KEY™ app.

2) Toggle 'Tool Lock' off.

3) Rescan.

Procedure for Recovered Stolen Tools

Purchased tool is locked/inoperable.

1) Contact MILWAUKEE® support.

2) Verify ownership.
